Antidote to Gloominess

When you want to escape from everyday life but don’t have the time or the means, there is Morocco therapy.

It starts with a homeopathic dose (how to prepare a real mint tea), and if that’s not enough, we increase the dose (a chicken tagine recipe à la Choumicha, a Berber treatment with argan oil…). And if that still isn’t enough, then we prescribe a full cure… a weekend in the Cherifian Kingdom!

Boost your energy and mood in just a few moments—here are a few ideas.
In Morocco, everything always begins with a good mint tea. Breathe in its aroma. Fresh, dried, or as an essential oil, mint is an aromatic herb with many benefits. As an infusion, it’s refreshing in summer and comforting in winter! For those who have already visited Morocco, this glass of tea will transport you “back home.” The “Mahababikoum” will once again echo in your ears.

To make a real “Moroccan-style” tea, you must first take your time. Buy green tea, place a pinch into a teapot, then add a little hot water (about the equivalent of a small tea glass). Pour this water into a glass and keep it. Repeat the process, then shake the teapot and discard the water (now dark). Place the teapot on the stove and let it boil for a few minutes. Add a generous bunch of mint and one large piece of sugar. Let it infuse for a few minutes.

Pour the tea into a glass, then pour it back into the teapot. Repeat this 3 to 4 times. This allows the sugar to dissolve properly and aerates the tea, enhancing its flavor.

This ritual is not only meant to let the tea and its aromas fully develop, but also to pause, slow down… and escape.

Le or la tajine?

If that’s not enough to make you dream, keep going and cook a delicious chicken and lemon tagine!

By the way, do we say “un tajine” or “une tajine”? Well, both—whether you like it or not. In the first case, it refers to the dish itself, and in the second, to the cooking vessel.

Morocco Therapy

And for our vegetarian friends, we offer zaalouk and mechouia salad—two iconic Moroccan classics that are both fresh, healthy, and full of flavour.

Spices play a fundamental role in Moroccan cuisine—and also in well-being. They are flavourful, healthy, and truly beneficial for the body. IT DOES YOU GOOD!

If cooking isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy a moment of escape: run a warm bath, add a few drops of basil essential oil or orange blossom, and relax by the soft glow of a cedarwood-scented candle.

It’s as if the Middle Atlas has entered your bathroom. Once fully relaxed, dry off gently and massage your skin with a few drops of argan oil—often called the oil of stars.

Of course, nothing replaces the authentic Morocco Therapy experience—come and see us to discover more 😉 We’ll be at the Lyon Hiking Fair on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th.

We look forward to meeting you.
